Mommy Monday #1 - Watch Jonah Grow!

A few months before Little Bug was born, a friend of mine had her baby.  Each week she sat her little girl by the same stuffed animal and posted them on Facebook.  Her album was called, "Watch Maddie Grow".  I was determined to do the same with Little Bug when he got here.   He was born on a Tuesday, so every Tuesday since then, he has gotten his picture taken with the same stuffed animal... the lamb.

It's been so fun to see the lamb shrink as Little Bug gets bigger!

All you need is a stuffed animal.  I chose a blanket so that I would have the same background in all my photos... definitely not necessary.

I think it's a great idea for the first year.  If anyone is about to have a baby, I suggest looking for the right stuffed animal now!  I wish that I had found a stuffed whale to photograph Little Bug by.  Anyway, I don't plan on continuing this past the first year.  I think it would start to become a fight when I'm making my 16 year take a picture with his lamb.  But... I wouldn't put it past me!

It's the start of something new...

I've been a little overwhelmed this week with crafting.  Mostly because I have so many ideas and not enough time to do them all!  And if I let myself, it would run everything and become more important than life.  So, I'm starting something on here that should help me remain focused and inspired.  It's a rotation schedule of everything I love to do/think about!

Here's how it will work:
Each day of the week will have a different theme:

~ Mommy Monday
(I will post crafts, ideas, activities, stories, etc... all about being a Mommy!)

~ Tree Hugging Tuesday
This day is for all things natural as my house and family is slowing being transformed into an almost all natural household.

~ Whatever Wednesday
This is a fun day for whatever I feel like!  It might be a giveaway, or a DIY, or a Before/After, maybe a tutorial, or a showcase of someone else's blog... whatever I feel like!

~ Threads for Thursday
Since I sew a few hours every day, there had to be a place to showcase what I'm working on.

~ Found it Friday
I'm obsessed with looking at other people's blogs.  And I have to say, there are some mighty creative ladies out there.  I'll be showing off what I find during the week here with links to their blogs so you can obsess over them, too!

We'll try this for a few weeks and see how it goes!

Have a great weekend ... and see ya Monday!

And because a blog post isn't complete without a picture, here's the first picture we got of Little Bug.
I think he wanted out!

Shag Rug Emergency!

So, I was shopping at Target and came across this rug:

I thought it was SO cute, but it didn't match any of the room in my house.  Since I needed a new kitchen rug, I decided to make my own.  I thought I'd be saving myself $9.99.

I'm sort of regretting that decision...  SO I need your help!

Should I continue with this rug?

Here's my thinking:

Why I want to finish:
- I need a rug to cover the awful apartment flooring in the kitchen (and I want to make it)
- I've already spent about 4 hours on it (YES, FOUR HOURS... I know, I'm not sure it's worth it)
- I have this horrible habit of not finishing things I start, and I'm determined to overcome that!

Why I want to quit:
- I've already spent about 4 hours on it! (and I'm not even halfway finished)
- I'm going to be so afraid something is going to spill on it (not smart to choose white as a color for a rug)
- I'm not sure I'm in love with it.

What do you think?  Should I keep going or just abandon the work?!
