It's been one of those days at the Smith House. You know what I'm talking about, right?
The kind where your son is cranky for no apparent reason. The kind where he decides it would be fun to stay up long stretches between naps and then only sleep for 50 minutes when he does nap. The kind where you almost Fed Ex him to Grandparents, but instead decide just to let him play with the packaging because he's happy doing it. (don't worry, there was parental supervision with this envelope)
So, this is where we spent most of our day today.
Yep, on the curb.
It was a beautiful day in Savannah, thankfully. And chunker-thighs here loves being outside.
He has since he was a newborn.
(well this picture was at 5 weeks, but he has loved it for as long as I can remember)
We just sat out there together watching the cars go by. It really was peaceful. And quiet. Which is what I desperately needed for 30 minutes.
There weren't enough cars to keep his attention for very long, though. Could someone please orchestrate a parade on the street in front of our apartment? It would be greatly appreciated.
Right, Little Bug?
We'll be waiting...
Keeping an eye out for the parade.
And when the weather started to get a little cold, I simulated the outside environment (with the help of a large sliding glass door and a Bumbo seat... oh, and the fun entertainment of a cardboard box).
Tell me, please, what do you do when you're having "one of those days"?
It's been awhile since my son was that age but he still has THOSE days, usually when he is teething or sick (right now he is both!) Fortunately he is better at talking now so he can tell me what he wants and is a little less whiny. Sorry about your long long day though.
ReplyDeleteBecky, you're so great! I empathized just with the title of your post! I usually try to just go with the flow and devote more time to my fussy baby. Then, she goes to bed early and Joel and I have dinner ALONE. :)
