Now... on to today's post...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Coming up with fun, creative Valentines for my sweetie are always fun for me.  And now, with Pinterest, it's even easier!  Over Christmas, I pinned this mustache mug to make as a gift.  I never got around to it, but remembered it last week and thought adding a sweet set of red lips would make the perfect pair!

Thanks to my Silhouette, it was super easy!  Just purchased an image and cut it out of black and red vinyl.  We've had a blast using them!

A few years ago I made this for my hubby for Valentine's Day.  It was perfect because he LOVE Swedish Fish and I LOVE him.  We unfortunately ate all three pounds of Swedish Fish in a matter of a few days.  Whoops.

It's super easy to make.  I had this fish bowl shaped candy dish on hand, but it might be even more fun to go buy a NEW fishbowl at the pet store!

I dumped a large box of Nerd in the bottom to resemble fish gravel and then piled up the Swedish Fish!

The stickers were from Target's dollar sticker section (near the school supplies), so this all made for a cheap Valentine gift that my hubby LOVED.

Don't forget to follow me on Pinterest so you can see all the cool ideas and crafts I'm posting to my "Love Your Husband" board!  Great inspiration in there as well as book suggestions you all gave me on the Facebook page last week.

Easy, Cheap Valentine's Bunting

This project took me about 20 minutes MAX.
And only cost $1!

I needed a Valentine's bunting that was quick and easy for a photo shoot background.
I didn't have any construction paper, so I ventured out to Family Dollar.

They didn't have any either.

BUT, I did find a wall calendar for only $1 that had the colors I was looking for!

So, I cut out a bunch of hearts in varying sizes.

Took them over the my sewing machine and sewed them together - one right after another!

Easy!

I'm not a huge fan of decorating my house for holidays
{other than Christmas},
but I will put some effort into the holiday photo shoots I do for my kids.

{Photo shoot reveal will come on Monday!}

Valentine's with Yankee Candle

This craft could actually be used with ANY holiday
or ANY event.

It was inspired by my mother.

She created these for my brother and his fiance's engagement party.
{Which took place in January}

The card read like this:

And inside was this Yankee Candle.

My creative mother matched the title of the Yankee Candle
{"Winter Wonderland"}
with an appropriate verse from the Bible for the occasion
{Psalm 118:23 "This is the Lord's doing.  And it is WONDERFUL in our eyes"}.
Great job mom!
These were SO cute!

Materials my mom used:
~ Small box from Walmart
~ Snowflake charm from Walmart {bought after Christmas sales}
~ "Joy" card was actually a cut up Christmas card.

But you could just as easily come up with something easier and quicker.
{Like a small cellophane bag with a tag inside about the verse}

Here's a Valentine's idea I found while perusing the Yankee Candle site.
Use this candle.
 And this verse:
Song of Solomon 8:7
Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away. If one were to give all the wealth of his house for love, it would be utterly scorned.

Don't want to use a verse?
Come up with a cute saying to go along with a votive instead!

Like this candle.

And this saying:
"My whole life is as romantic as a walk on the beach with you."

{That seems like a pretty lame saying... I'm sure you can more creative than me!}

Yankee Candles are the Cadillac of candles {in my opinion}, and these votives are just the right price for a simple, but thoughtful gift!

Gift for Hubby

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mr. Bug LOVES Swedish Fish.  I do too, so this gift was especially hard because I found myself sneaking them before I had given it to him!  (confession... I even had to go back to the store to buy more since there was a noticeable "mouse" getting into them).
I made this for him for Valentine's Day, but it could be an easy/quick gift for any guy - any time!
I just got out a glass container we used at our wedding (for a candy bar)
(see them in the right corner?)
but... you could easily just go buy a NEW fish bowl at the store!
I then dumped two movie size boxes of Nerds in the bottom (to resemble fish gravel) and a 3 pound bag of Swedish Fish (found at Target) on top.  After I poured them in, I thought they looked kind of like a pile of dead fish, but I tried to ignore that as much as I could!
Using Photoshop, I printed off a tag that said "You're my Favorite Fish in the Sea!", tied it around using twine (my favorite crafting accessory of all time) and tied a few pieces of ribbon around the lid.  I also found a packet of fish stickers in the Target Scrapbooking Dollar Section (have you checked that out, yet?!?  awesome stuff) and put some of the outside and some on the back of the jar. Easy.
He loved it.
Two days later, there are no more Swedish Fish.  Yes, we ate all 3 pounds.  ... yikes!
Simple Valentine's Day Craft - Champagne Glass
So, every few weeks a group of us girls get together for what we like to call "A Book Club".  Very creative title, huh?!  We are currently reading, The Peacemaker by Ken Sande.  Supposed to help us all with conflict resolution!
Well, since tonight is the meeting before Valentine's Day, I thought I'd whip up a little gift for each of the girls.  This seriously took less than an hour and I think they turned out really cute!
They were so easy!
1. Find Champagne glasses at the Dollar Store.
2. Fill them with candy (buy more than you think you need... I think I ate too many, so a few of them weren't filled to the brim).
3. Cut a few scraps of material with pinking shears.
4. Print off a fun Valentine's tag (I made mine with PhotoShop and digital scrapbooking elements, but you can print out this tag here and write/draw your design)
5. Tie your fabric scraps and tag around the glass.
You're done!
While I was at Walgreens, I found some inspiration for my husband's Valentine gift!
Here's a sneak peek.  I'll post the real thing ON Valentine's Day, since he sometimes frequents my blog and I don't want to totally ruin the surprise!
